1° Can you outline the history and activity of your company in a few words?
MUFG Investor Services, a subsidiary group within Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, is a global leader in asset servicing. With 50+ years of expertise in Luxembourg, we provide solutions including custody, depositary, and fund administration for alternative investment strategies such as private equity, real estate, and private debt. With teams in financial hubs across Europe, Asia and North America, our mission is to support alternative asset managers and owners across the investment lifecycle, streamlining workflows and enhancing transparency while delivering operational precision.
2° You have recently decided to join L3A - what are the key reasons behind this?
As an active participant in Luxembourg’s alternative fund administration sector, joining L3A was a natural step for MUFG Investor Services. Our goal is to support the growth of the local ecosystem by engaging in best practice sharing and technical exchanges with fellow members. This membership also allows us to collaborate closely with industry peers and participate in the dialogue regarding the latest market trends, challenges, and evolving local regulations.
3° What do you believe you can offer to L3A and the alternative administrator provider ecosystem ?
MUFG Investor Services brings practical insights to L3A by joining the Tax, Regulatory, and Operations technical committees. Serving global firms, including clients faced with heightened expectations, provides our team with firsthand experience regarding rigorous market demands and evolving pressures. By sharing our insight within the working groups, we aim to help L3A address complex administrative challenges and contribute to shaping practical, forward-looking best practices for the local ecosystem.
4° What do you see as the greatest opportunities offered by Luxembourg in the alternative administrator provider market? What are the main challenges to be tackled in order to capitalise on these opportunities?
Luxembourg’s market continues to expand by consistently attracting new asset managers seeking to establish a European presence. However, as fund structures evolve to meet specific investor needs and become increasingly complex, administrators face the challenge of continuously adapting their operating models and solutions. The main priority is to seamlessly support these increasingly sophisticated fund structures while allying investor requirements and regulatory compliance with operational efficiency.
