1° Can you outline the history and activity of your company in a few words?
Established in 2009, Centaur delivers independent fund administration, fiduciary and regulatory services globally to the alternative investment fund industry, focusing on hedge funds, private equity, credit and real estate funds, family offices and ILS funds. With almost 300 employees, 10 offices throughout North America, Europe, and South-East Asia and over $50bn in assets under administration, Centaur is quickly becoming an international standard bearer for the fund administration industry.
Centaur Luxembourg opened in 2018 and has experienced phenomenal growth, especially withinthe Private Equity and Real Estate (PERE) sectors. Luxembourg represents a key strategic location for Centaur that enables our PE and RE clients to benefit from an international team thatis the most experienced in the industry.
2° You have recently decided to join L3A - what are the key reasons behind this?
L3A promotes the interests of Alternative Service Providers in Luxembourg. Centaur provides a top tier alternative with a broader range of services to those already in the sector. Our independence and accountability are renowned and L3A offers us a platform to grow our profile within Luxembourg.
L3A also provides an opportunity for senior leadership from the funds industry to meet,exchange ideas and work towards continually improving the Luxembourg fund services industry.Centaur is excited to join the association and be part of such an exciting initiative.
3° What do you believe you can offer to L3A and the alternative administrator provider ecosystem?
Firstly, Centaur’s established presence in Luxembourg has acquired some of the mostexperienced people in the industry, including several senior management hires over the past 12months. Our experienced team and excellent client service are core to our success.
Secondly, Centaur Luxembourg has already built a significant client base in the region. We have always put the client at the heart of our business and our client base growth has exceeded our ambitious expectations. Centaur is particularly experienced in multi-jurisdictional fund administration and services a growing number of Luxembourg funds which have been established by European, UK and US based managers. Managers are accepting that they need to be able to function in multiple domiciles in order to fully cater for their investors’ needs and to facilitate investments. As a result, many are finding themselves in jurisdictions which are new tothem, and Centaur offers them guidance in navigating the differing local requirements.
